All America City Competition 2018 - Denver, Colorado

*UPDATE: "Allentown was not ultimately the winner of the 2018 All-America City Award but we were one of 17 finalists. Our team highlighted the diversity of our city, the importance of equity, the academic improvements in our schools, and the specific programs developed to support immigrants. We talked about the huge increase in jobs and the $1B in new development. We talked about how Allentown is a comeback kid, and we are. Ultimately, it’s an amazing source of pride for our city to be named a finalist. Allentown has been through a gauntlet of challenges and our city is on the rise. Our 100% rating in the HRC municipal equality index. Our Urban Land Institute award for global excellence. Our renewed focus on equity in the Allentown School District." - Adrian Shanker
